How to add secure, shared memory to Claude Desktop
Add a remote MCP memory server as a custom connector: in Claude Desktop or claude.ai, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector and paste the server's URL. Claude then reads and writes that memory in any chat.
For Morphika the URL is https://mcp.morphika.ai/mcp. You sign in through the browser, and the same memory is shared with Claude Code and Codex.
About Morphika: Morphika is secure, shared memory for personal AI agents like Claude Code, Codex and Claude Desktop. How it is secured.
How do I add the connector?
- Step 1: Open Settings → Connectors.
- Step 2: Choose Add custom connector.
- Step 3: Name it Morphika and paste
https://mcp.morphika.ai/mcp. - Step 4: Click Add, then Connect. A browser page opens.
- Step 5: Sign in with your Morphika account, then click Authorize.
How is this different from Claude's own memory?
Claude's built-in memory belongs to the Claude app. Morphika is separate memory the Claude app reaches through a connector, so the same entries are also available to Claude Code in your terminal and to Codex. It also adds what a personal assistant's memory usually lacks: an audit log you can verify, approval for shared changes, and per-connection revoke.
How do I try it?
- Step 1: In a chat, say: “Save to Morphika: I like short answers with the command first.”
- Step 2: Start a new chat, or open Claude Code, and ask: “Check Morphika: how do I like my answers?”
Can I connect read-only?
Yes. Add a second connector with https://mcp.morphika.ai/read/mcp. It can read, search and list memory, and nothing else. Use it in chats where Claude reads web pages or documents you don't control.
How do I add a team workspace?
Each workspace has its own URL on the dashboard's Connect page. Add it as another connector (for example Morphika Team). Saves through it wait for another member's approval. See shared memory for teams.
